Tiny Tots & Tumble Bugs

Imagination Dance, pre-ballet, jazzy dance, elementary tumbling, multi-cultural dance, French terminology, songs & theatrics for 2½ - 3½ yr olds (TumbleBugs)and for 3½ - 4½ yr olds (Twirling Tots). These little ones are a smash hit in adorable costumes at our Spring Performance in the Historic Elsinore Theater each year.
Pre-Ballet A little taste of "real" ballet training (positions, turns, jumps, deportment, terminology) mixed with a big measure of Imagination Dance, movement exploration, dramatics, encouragement & fun for children 4yrs to K.
Ballet Learn some of this beautiful, historic movement system (classical terminology, positions, placement, deportment etc.). We combine elementary levels of ballet with jazz, lyrical or Irish dance to expose students in grades 1 - 6 to different dance forms early in their dance education--emphasis is on developing overall grace & co-ordination. (These classes are less "serious" than classical ballet.)
Jazzy Dance A little jazz, a little hip-hop (Hippity-Hop), a little funk & a lot of fun set to age appropriate, wholesome music. Emphasis on accurate musicality, motor co-ordination & showmanship for kids pre-school to grade 3.
Tap Dance Riffs, shuffles, slaps, struts, the Maxi Ford, the Shim-Sham, song & dance! Make sounds & rhythms with tippy-tappy toes & heels. Our tap classes also include part of our ballet syllabus to add variety and to give the children a better foundation in theatrical dance. Classes offered for children 4yrs to grade 1.
Irish Dance Beginning reels & jigs. Moving on to slip jigs & treble dancing (hard shoes) with skill acquisition. A theatrical combination of Irish Set, Step & Ceili forms as well as dramatic lyrical dancing. We welcome energetic pre-schoolers through teens. Just like Riverdance! (almost)
Jazz & Hip-Hop Basics to advanced levels of jazz, rhythmic hip-hop & stylized funk. Learn to stretch, turn & jump like a jazz dancer. Emphasis on flexibility, technique, showmanship and maintaining absolute symmetry with one’s class/teammates. Turns, tricks & kicks set to great music for serious, hard-working students 3rd grade - high school. Great preparation for high school Rally Squad or Dance Team!
Classical Ballet & Pointe This is the lovely foundation of all theatrical dance. For girls, the training eventually leads to pointe dancing & partnering. Boys train for the athletic jumps, turns, strength & the partnering required of male dancers. Intermediate/advanced students perform in an original ballet that opens our Historic Elsinore Theater Gala each spring.

In these classes, effort, commitment & excellent attendance are expected. Those in our original ballet in the spring are required to attend a few planned rehearsals even when these conflict with other activities. Please join only if committed to faithful attendance.
